
Colleen is fascinated with the workings of the human mind and heart against the backdrop of a changing global landscape. She lives and writes in Northern California; its people and the landscape are a part of everything she writes.
Colleen’s book We All Have Parts: An Illustrated Guide to Healing Trauma with Internal Family Systems, was published by PESI Publishing in 2021. It’s an approachable first book for people facing recovery from childhood trauma that integrates parts language. As of December 2024, it has sold 22,000 copies, and has been translated into Spanish, French, and Korean.
Her poems have been published in literary journals in the US and abroad, including The Birdland Journal, The London Reader, and The Beautiful Cadaver Anthology, Is it Hot in Here?.
She loves any meal made with garlic and olive oil, any day without anything on the schedule. She is a secret introvert in an extrovert’s clothing, and likes spending time painting landscapes and dreaming up new combinations of ingredients in the kitchen. She lives in the San Francisco East Bay with her husband and the beautiful dog Sky.
